One Day Course

This course is designed for people who are required to fill in application forms and to prepare for competency based presentations or interviews. It prepares participants for an evidence based approach to the job application process and shows them how to demonstrate their existing skills and experience in specific circumstances. The course will cover:

• What is a competency and its role in my job application
• How to identify your competencies from your work experience and how they can be transferred to the current context
• How to choose examples from your experience to use as evidence of your ability
• How to pitch your examples at the right level and in sufficient detail
• How to use the STAR method to turn your examples that allow you to deliver these stories impactfully
