Understanding the Personality Sun

The Sun is the biggest force in your chart. It accounts for about 70% of the Personality energy. It’s the  gift you bring to the world and makes up an important part of your purpose.

This isn’t simply about what we do for work, though it can influence the work we choose to do, but rather how we naturally express ourselves when we’re aligned with our authentic nature.

The Personality Sun shows what others naturally wee in us and seek from us. It acts as our outer authority. It’s the way we “shine” our unique light outward. Your Sun is your outer authority. It’s how you influence the world around you when you’re truly yourself.

The Sun-Earth Dynamic: Grounding Your Purpose

While the Personality Sun shows us our purpose, we need the Personality Earth to ground that purpose into reality. Think of the Sun as the light of potential, and the Earth as the soil in which that potential can take root and grow.

The Earth represents how we anchor ourselves, providing the foundation needed to fully express our Sun’s gifts. This dynamic relationship between Sun and Earth creates a natural combination that, allows our purpose to flow into the world with ease and grace. The Earth shows us how to make our purpose practical and sustainable.

My Sun is Gate 15: The Love of Humanity

My own Personality Sun is in Gate 15, known as the Gate of Humanity or Extremes. This energy has shaped my life in ways I’m only now fully appreciating. It means I have an in-built adaptability and a capacity to go with the flow of life. It does not lead to a conventional life. I am designed to march to the beat of my own drum.

>I’ve noticed throughout my life that I’m rarely shocked by human behaviour, instead finding myself curious about the full range of human expression. There’s a part of me that inherently understands that extremes are part of the human experience, and that finding moderation within those extremes is part of our collective journey.

This energy defines how I am as a coach, facilitator and educator. I’ve always had a natural ability to connect with all kinds of people, regardless of their background, life’s experiences or choices. Gate 15 has an innate gift for seeing and honouring the humanity in everyone.
This has made me particularly good at guiding people through change. I naturally understand that transformation isn’t linear. There’s something about my energy that helps people feel safe exploring their extremes while finding their truth.

I understand that my core purpose is to help others appreciate their uniqueness -to help each person love their own human-ness, exactly as it is.

How My Earth in Gate 10 Grounds My Purpose

>My Personality Earth is in Gate 10, the Gate of Behaviour of the Self. This provides the perfect grounding for my Gate 15 Sun because it anchors my wild personal rhythm through self-love and authenticity. I can only bring love to the world—Gate 15—if I start with loving myself—Gate 10.

When I lose touch with that grounding, I start losing the rhythm. I get caught in other people’s expectations. I try to be everything for everyone, and I end up scattered and tired. My ‘earth’ journey has been about understanding that authentic self-care isn’t selfish—it’s the necessary foundation to be able to express my gifts and fulfil my purpose.
